What do these go to? Edit: they're for the door buzzer
-
What's this for? Edit: turn signal flasher. I put it back where it belongs.
-
Torn driver's side inner CV boot
-
This has GOT to go
-
Replaced all the door struts, so now the doors, hood and louvers stay up
-
Another shot of the newly functioning doors
-
All the old gas struts
-
Removing part of the center console to repair the damage done by the alarm installation
-
Some of the alarm wires were routed through the relay area
-
Alarm system, fully removed. The trash is too good for this thing!
-
Replaced all the side marker gaskets. Here's what's left of the original ones
-
Also dismantled and rebuilt the locking gas cap. It locks tight and opens smoothly now.
-
Gas cap installed
-
New side marker gaskets installed
-
Another unidentified disconnected wire under the dashboard. Edit: not used on this VIN, was for the ignition-linked brake lights
-
New tires all around. Falken Ziex 512s
-
New rear tire. Had to get 225/60s instead of the OE 235/60s, but they still look fine
-
Rear wheel width
-
Broken power mirror switch assembly
-
Ugh... so many tiny parts
-
Inner contact board for the mirror switch
-
Stripped out hole where the engine cover striker plate goes
-
The fiberboard inside the seatback was cracked in half. A steel channel and a steel square epoxied in place and it's good as new
-
This is the steel channel I found at the hardware store to fix the seatback
-
Installed brand new side sill seals to keep things nice and dry
-
Destroyed old side sill door seal
-
Old asbestos heat shield for the muffler. Has a hole burned right through it.
-
Can sort of see the hole here. This has gotta go!
-
Here's the new one, made of heat absorbing material bonded to a stainless panel
-
Got the old one out, so here they are side by side. Uhhh... nice try, asbestos.
-
New heat shield installed and looking good
-
Ooo, shiny.
-
This side has the heat absorbing weave
-
Mystery bolt backed out behind the taillight. Still investigating.
-
Taillight connector
-
Taillight circuit board. Talk about primitive...
-
Fully restored battery access door
-
Fan fail unit has been removed and jumpered. This was a TSB back in the day... I plan to get a modified unit that won't fail
-
Uh oh. Fuse box is melting. I had hoped I would be exempt from this. Looks like there's a replacement in my future. Relays too.
-
Bright shiny oil light sending unit I just installed. Should stop the majority of the oil drip. Also have to do a pulley o-ring.
-
Relay for the power antenna
-
Power for the antenna. I'm going to unhook this because that thing is annoying.
-
Umm.. shouldn't there be something screwed in here?
-
Yep, that's not right.
-
Passenger side door before I take the panels off
-
Door again
-
Picture of the screws so I can put them back right
-
More screws holding the lower door panel on
-
Door panel removed
-
Original lock cylinders. This one is not working and has to be removed, which means I have to do both.
